Swiss Surfing Championships 2012

Warm up session today and start of competition tomorrow

The Swiss surfers are set and ready to start competition tomorrow Wednesday 12th September at Zarautz beach. Conditions look promising for the 21 men and record breaking 15 women competing at the 15th Swiss Surfing Championships. Check out the photos of todays warm up session, boardies and bikinis dominated the lineup!
 

Day 1 - Swiss Surfing Championships 2012

Day 1 of the 15. Swiss Surfing Championships is finished. The surfers made the best out of the challenging condition on offer at the beachbreak of Zarautz and showed a good display of surfing.

The final day of competition saw two new Swiss Champions being crowned for 2012

Geneva based Rachel Bonhote dominated the 25 minute final and took out the open womens title. Daniela Cramer placed second, Julie De Smet in third and Anne Bonhote in forth place. The Open Mens division was hotly contested with seventeen year old Swen Zaugg taking the win ahead of Martin Müller (2nd) Philip Mappes (3rd) and Matthieu Honegger (4th). Having just competed in the ISA European Junior Championships in Lacanau (F), Swen surfed a marathon seven heats in challenging two meter conditions to convincingly take out the final.

5 days in the desert

   End of my exams for the uni, start of the semester break and winter is right there in West Oz ! A lot of rain, a lot of wind and also a lot of swell... a storm is coming with a 20ft swell: big enough to make us happy :)

Freestyle camps are in Saas-Fee again this summer

The Freestylecamps.ch created by ESKIMOS and Quiksilver/Roxy will take place this summer for the 3rd time. The Free skier and Snowboarders will rock the park on the Allalin Glacier for 2 weeks from 15-22 July and 22-29 July, together with the Quiksilver Pro’s, Christian Bieri, Tanja Frieden, Andreas Burri, Sergio Berger and the ESKIMOS Coaches.

It sounds like every single rider's motivation of this trip is traveling to discover new places, meet new people and surf new spots at any time of the year. The team was just perfect. It was still summertime in France and we were surfing without any wetsuit but we decided to go into the cold and wear a 4/3mm, socks and gloves and hood...

Surfing WA today announced that one of the most progressive modern day surfers, Ry Craike has been given the final wildcard entry into the Telstra Drug Aware Pro in Margaret River from April 3 to 10.

And who will be there? Yes, Nicolas Risch, one of our photographers!!! We will ask him how everything is going down there...

Being ONLINE.... and Down Under ....

Went down a dirt track somewhere in the south west, walked over the hill and down the dune and was looking at pure glass, nice peaks all over the place breaking to the left and right, just a few Italiens and a few locals out, still plenty of waves for my mate who was on a sort of mini mall. so instead of going surfing i decided to take my camera and get my first few shots at this place. the locals ...
